Selling for roughly $273000 USD (201680 Euro), the Lamborghini Murcielago, big brother of the Lamborghini Gallardo, is a classic, high-performance sports car in the bullish tradition of Italian automaker Ferruccio Lamborghini. Now a subsidiary of Audi AG, Lamborghini has been the direct competitor of Enzo Ferrari's stable of automobiles since 1963. The Lamborghini Murcielago is a two-seat, two-door coupe with the trademark Lamborghini gull-wing doors. The 6.2-liter V12 is mid-mounted and generates 575 hp @ 7500 rpm. At 5400 rpm the engine produces 479 lb-ft of torque (approximately 650 Nm). The gear box has been fabricated into the front of the engine, it also features integrated rear differential and permanent four-wheel drive. Additionally, the 2002 Lamborghini Murcielago has an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution and brake assist as well as technology for traction and stability control. The rack and pinion steering is also equipped with power assist. The Murcielago's carbon fibre body is sleek and uninterrupted thanks to front and rear body color bumpers. Overall, the emphasis is on aerodynamic performance, with numbers to backup the proposition. The Lamborghini Murcielago has a top speed of 205.1 mph (330 kph) and will make 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds (0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.) The 0 to 100 mph leap takes just 8.7 seconds and the Lamborghini Murcielago will tick off a quarter mile (0.402 km) in 12 seconds at 121 mph or 194.7 kph. Coming ...
